I will happily serve a Southern breakfast in the morning. It will not have grits, but feel free to bring your own.

First I will serve Planter's Rum Punch with a split of sugarcane for a garnish. For those who need their caffeine I will serve French pressed Columbian coffee. For Becky or any one else that would like it, I will add a splash of Irish whiskey and a dollop of whipped cream.

Second I will serve cornmeal and ham pancakes topped with a poached egg and maple syrup.

Next I will serve an oyster pie. I like a few extra oysters in mine but I don't want things to become too racy so I will stick with the usual recipe of one quart of oysters for the crusty pie.

Finally, we shall have a light dessert with our breakfast. I thought that broiled peaches with bourbon cream and pecans would be tasty.

Many thanks to Emeril Lagasse for helping me with this repast. Enjoy all!

Jester

Nick, everything sounds great, although I've never had oyster pie. Thank you for allowing my grit indulgence. I'll bring the batch that I soak in squeezins overnight just to add a touch of...flavor.

I think I might need a designated driver after my second helping of peaches and bourbon creme. Is the 'creme' part optional? drink

Have a good day, my friend. I wonder when somebody will offer to fix dinner...?

Ken

I would offer to make dinner -- but I am a Yankee in southern territory. Eat

Aleia, we won't hold your resident location against you at all. I would love to know what you'd fix for dinner! I mean, Nick's long lost relatives are famous in Alabama, and he doesn't even like grits.

Can you imagine?

In the morning I will make a small breakfast. It must be small because Ken's girth is slowly stretching.

Fresh squezzed tomato juice...probably the last of the season. A touch of Tabasco and/or vodka for Becky and her friends. Wink I claim to be a friend. Jester

Next I will do a banana French toast with a chocolate drizzle. If that is all you eat, I think you will be fine.

Next I would add an omelette with spinach and Gruyere cheese. I would add a touch of Tabasco on this but what do I know.

Finally, I would add warmed crepes in orange sauce with berry compote. I probably would put a touch of whipped cream on them if I weren't doing this for Kenny.

Fine Kenyan coffee and Mimosas should be drunk throughout the breakfast.

Just my opinion...I could be wrong. Jester

I shouldn't have checked out this thread!

My god Plastikos, but you have made meso hungry. I love fish, no matter what it is, and that oyster pie does sound delicious. Just recently we went to a Mexican restaurant in Wexford town. The desert there was absolutely divine: A base of warm, soft chocolate-chip cookies, sandwiched in freshly whipped, dairy ice-cream, with a dollop of chololate sauce and crushed peanuts on top.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm... Egg

Oh God, if I don't get something tasty to eat right now I'm going to die!! Eat

Egads is an exclamation used when one is shocked or confused or generally feeling the need to express a "Yikes" but finds the word "Yikes" just doesn't cut it.

Pronounced eeee - gads. Swoon

For breakfast, put Italian sausage in a frying pan and sear. Add tomatos, mushrooms, and onions. Next add twelve whisked eggs and cook for a bit. Then put in the oven at 350 degrees to finish cooking the baked Frittata with cheddar cheese on top.

Meanwhile, inject two cantalopes and\or a small watermelon with 4 ounces of Vodka or Ken's famous brew. Jester Make melon balls for all present. I am thinking of four people only...you may need to double or triple the recipe. Big Grin

Use my bisquit recipe to make the bread and baste with more butter than you ever dreamed of. Have home made sandhill plum jelly available on the table.

Use my personal recipe for Hollandaise sauce and use an artichoke to add more flavor to put on the egg Frittata.

Take your fresh orange juice and add an equal amount of champagne for a cold mimosa drink.

Use Kenyan coffee to French Press your warm drink. For Becky, I would add a dab of Bushmills and a dollop of whip cream. But what do I know. Smiler

If we are not content, we have a brunch to look forward to. Jester
