It is with a great deal of regret that I am notifying the members of my resignation from the administration of WordDistillery. I have enjoyed being a part of the “birthin’” of the site so that we could keep family and friends together and to continue to write in a friendly atmosphere. For a number of reasons, I don’t wish to disclose any of the background information leading to my decision. I have made some wonderful supportive friends here and plan to remain on the site if it is not too uncomfortable for members or the administration. There are no hard feelings; we remain on good terms. I can’t thank all of you enough for the opportunity to participate in this grand adventure.

Galatea leaving the administration of this site would inflict a mortal wound, not only on the site who would lose her valuable insights and skills but on the hearts of all of us who have come to know and respect her, her work, her wit and her comforting prescence through long association on this and other sites.

My dearest Lady G...this is sad news to awaken to, indeed. Oh my...I don't know what to say. I'm at least glad you'll still be around popping in to share your wonderful writing with us. You have been a dedicated administrator, and for that I thank you deeply. Whatever your reasons, you have a friend here, with a willing ear and shoulder, if you should need them. Thanks for all your hard work.

After a lengthy phone conversation; I finally was convinced that you were serious about this. I understand your reasoning behind stepping down but it doesn't mean that I like it.
It just won't be the same around here without you. I'm wondering how much longer I can now last.

Becks...I knew you were having problems but I NEVER would have expected your resignation. Your email to me yesterday explained a lot, but I didn't think anything or anyone would cause you to make such a move.

WE NEED YOU, GALATEA. I don't understand letswriteandshare's flippant comment about you and Nick. She has always been one of my favorites...before this.

Please know that I will do anything within my power to help you rectify the issues and problems. Please reconsider your action. You are needed by all of us.

I don't appreciate the one I just now received. And to take this to the boards in public is exactly why I am on Galatea's side through all of this.

Since last Wednesday, we have all tried our best to air our differences in private, and since that obviously didn't work, you have left me no alternative other than to speak my mind here as well. I won't stand for any negative comments being made about Becky, nor will I allow these cheap shots to be made without coming to her defense.

Becky tried her hardest to work this out, but the lack of concern shown has me convinced that she has made the right decision.

I will continue to back her 100% and I will not allow these so called "threats" to influence my stance on the matter.

This is to all of you whom I consider to be friends....even Ron. There is no reason for all this discord over my resignation. That is the last thing I would want to see happen. I felt strongly and still do that my decision was in the best interest of the site. More than anything else, I want the site to remain and to continue to be a place of gathering for all of us. I will still be here, just in a different capacity. And Lionhearted One, I probably will write more now.

We have been a cohesive group til now. I see no reason why that has to change.

My apologies to Lionheart. You were unaware of the behind the scenes abuse that SOME of us have suffered. You should not have been roused from your cat nap like that, and I am truly sorry. Becky and I knew that it wouldn't be easy to work along side six stubborn men. The testosterone levels alone have nearly driven us insane, not to mention the mess they leave. Now to be degraded by offers of promotions?
