I'm new here and I've only been writing a few months. Most of my stories include my dog Koda because we do seem to get in a lot of trouble together. I made a couple of posts and was happy to get some feedback which is very important to me. Being new to writing, feedback makes me a better writer.

Hi there, Sterve!

I said it before, but I don't mind saying it once more: Welcome to Word Distillery!

I hope you're going to like it here. We're a motley crowd, but quite harmless - we don't bite unless thoroughly riled.
You'll be sure to meet some more of us as you go along.

Oh - by the way - do you want us to call you Neil or Sterve?

Jane

Thanks Jane. I'm actually Neil but I write my stories under 'Steve Brighten'. I must have had too much wine when I joined the group because I'm sure I wrote Steve and not Sterve. The only problem is I don't know how to change the name after registering. I'm very happy to be here because I've already received some great advice, specifically from flutterbug. I'm pretty easy going and you'll find that Koda is a big part of my life and all my stories involving him are based on true experiences. I've got three more stories in the works; Dearly Departed about giving a eulogy at the wrong funeral, Attack of the Killer Watermelon about a further encounter with Constable Mike and Kodaplick which is a true story about my dog, the real Koda. I've only been writing a few months so I'm kind of struggling here. I like to tell humourous stories but I want to write in proper English. I am a perfectionist and I love to make people laugh. If I post something, please don't be afraid to be brutal in your feedback. I have big shoulders. I don't have any problems coming up with the stories because I do have a warped mind. To make them good is another matter. Thanks for the welcome.

Neil and Koda

Neil, having a warped mind has often proved to be a real help when all else fails.
In the meantime we will, of course, keep a stern eye on your linguistics.
As for your username, I'm sure one of the administrators will be able to fix it.
If you have any questions, just give any of us a holler.
Have fun.
Jane

Welcome Neil...by the sound of things you might be a better fit at WD than most of us regular folk. Our favourite beverage round these parts is squeezins and none of us can hold it for long except maybe in a mason jar.
A warped mind will definitely help in the short term, however over time psychosis is inescapable. I shall keep a close eye on your offerings to determine the depth of you dementia and report you to the proper authorities. Good luck.

What is that ghastly sniffing? Oh...it’s the Earl (my dog), with a message for Koda. Grrrrrrgh, (&^%$#...Woof, woof...woof!

I think he said something about Koda being welcome, but he will have to pass the whiffing test. I’m not sure what that involves, but it’s probably not pleasant. Anyway, we will look forward to meeting again.

Welcome Neil.
I read your Mr. Peanuts story last night. I almost fell off my chair I was laughing so hard.
Looking forward to more!

Welcome to the Distillery, Neil!

I look forward to reading your work, and I'm glad to know that humor is important in your life cuz sometimes we can be a pretty funny bunch.

Welcome aboard! And greetings to Koda too!
