HAPPY NEW YEAR WD FAMILY!

This is the first year in a long time I have not been with my best buddies on New Year's Eve, but a snowstorm and recuperating from an illness this past week is keeping me home, wrapped in my new fuzzy robe and finishing a new book. In about 2 minutes it will be 2009! Yikes!

I echo Bab's wishes for a happy, healthy, joyful, loving and peace-filled New Year.

May 2009 see the return of our long lost WD members! Miss you all and hope you are well!

I had a little dental surgery over the holidays so I've been laying low and taking tons of Motrin. Flooterygirl, you can appreciate the fun I've had.....bone graft. Need I say more. It's amazing how swollen one's face can get!

And this all started from eating a piece of my Mom's birthday cake that was loaded with super duper kryptonite strength tooth fracturing sprinkles. At least they were colorful!

But anywhoooo.......as always, my best wishes to my wonderful friends here at the distillery!

Well I rang in the new year by having a poetry breakfast on 1-1-09 at Shoneys in Jackson, Tennessee. There were three of us present. We shared poetry and had hamlet and egglets for breakfast. Last April I organized a poetry breakfast for April 1, 2008. Everyone who read poetry was awarded a goodly nugget of fools gold and a certificate of participation from The Fellowship of Disenhanted Poets. The premise for our club was inspired by a rainbow.

Last Spring around the vernal equinox I was driving home and I saw a rainbow. I stopped the car and ran toward the end that was closest to me. It was closer than it appeared and I soon found myself at the end of it. Sure enough there was a pot at the end of it but it was not filled with gold. Nope, it was a chamber pot and it was filled with feces. I sat down on it to contemplate and make a contribution before departing to pursue other endeavors.

The year of 2009 has not necessarily been happy. It has been somewhat difficult and problematic but I have weathered the storms. I am still mending from injuries sustained on September 29 and October 5.

There has been so much rain in West TN that the cotton crops are at risk. A wet sping resulted in a late planting and a wet fall has resulted in a dubious harvest.

On the upshot, we built a new deck and made other improvements to the manse. I installed new, cedar green, gates at Camp Juniper.
