Oh, it's been far too long since I called in to this lovely site, beyond removing stuff that shouldn't be where it is.
Hiya, Flooter, how the heck are you? You're one of the nicest and loveliest members of this and other sites on the 'net. You charm without intending to, and make this 'ere Distillery a place of pleasantness and niceness and loveliness, when it appeared that it was only me wot brung such things to what otherwise appeared a place of un-niceness, un-pleasantness and generally un-things.
And for all those wondrous people, other than Flooter, that make Worddistillery such a place of near perfection, politically (don't mention the p word), whose birthdays and anniversaries I have missed - nay, neglected to commemorate - I apologise, and with the utmost regret. Flooter's one of a number of people on this site, and others, whom I would consider to be so very special. Here, raising an invisible wine glass, is to you all.

Lion~~Thank you so much for posting a Happy Birthday thread for me. My day was spent working in the dental asylum which was around 80 degrees +...which might be tolerable if one didn't have to don a long sleeve scrub jacket, a mask and latex gloves. Gripe gripe gripe!

Things got better...

I came home and ordered Chinese food which I haven't had in forever. It was delicious! Then younger daughter gave me a pair of beautiful earrings (my fetish after wildflowers!!) and hubby bought a double chocolate birthday cake for dessert. (chocolate, if you remember My Secret Love** poem, is another of my guilty pleasures! haha)

I received an email wish from older daughter and will celebrate my birthday with her this weekend, as well as a birthday phone call from my son, the youngest, who will come home from UMass this weekend to see me.

So thank you, yes, it did turn out nicely...plus I got my #ONE birthday wish 2 days early on Tuesday evening, 11 p.m.!!(Election Day)

Ron, ol' dawg...thank you for being supportive on QL in my early days so that I soon lost my shyness in posting. Yeah, you're right...I especially don't want to remember my birthday next year! YIKES it's a biggy!

Dougie-dear, flattery will get you nowhere...c'mon now, you're the only one who has seen me in person! I must admit, I WAS 29 for 4 years and after that, kind of lost track of my age...I do remember 40 and laughing at it (maybe it was that card that said "Turning 40 is a breeze...and your boobs will be flapping in it!") Then more years passed, into another decade, and the memory started going...one year I spent the entire year thinking I was a year older than I really was!! The NICE thing about that was that I didn't mind it when I really turned that age the next year...It didn't seem so bad!
BUT... this time next year, I will be heading into a new decade, and I will be really, honestly, and truly as old as dirt. Simple as that.

MJ~~that birthday link was magnificent! Did you remember my listening to them one time (Blue Guitar, actually) and being inspired to write my Purple Haze poem? Or was it just a lucky guess? Either way, I thank you.

Also, thank you for the congrats on President-elect Obama...I'm not sure if everyone would feel it was a cause for congrats and celebration...but I do and accept them graciously and with bright hope for some much needed change in the future of the country.
