They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Well I think words can do a pretty darn good portrayal so I am throwing down the gauntlet to all you writer types out there. The topic is "Who Am I and What Has Made Me the Person I Am Today"?
I actually had to write on this topic for a life skills class once upon a time. I, of course, handed in 32 typewritten pages, single spaced, size 8 font jokingly entitled Chapter 1. My instructor had the comment that she wasn't expecting a novel but she should have known better when it came to me. She was surprised I didn't hand in a screenplay, lol.
Now y'all don't have to write novels or screenplays; a short vignette should do quite well. For those of us who tend to wax poetic at times this can also be done in prose. Are y'all up to it????

I’m a self-made man, I am. I traveled through time to where I am.
There’s six foot O me plus two little marks more …and mean to
the core; but gentle with the ladies. I was born long ago and not
too swift; ma and pa took one look and set me adrift. I took on
school a little at a time worked odd jobs, drank hard liquor and
home made wine.

Joined the army for a spell, to confining so I give it up. Ma and
pa done moved, so I was on my own. That’s when I learned to
dance and where I met the prettiest gal I ever did see. So I up
and married her. We stacked up eleven offspring’s, all in all.
It was the best forty-eight years of my fife. Well, that’s about all
there is O me.

I am a gentle, stubborn cuss, a down-easter, roots run deep there. Been here and there throughout the world, courtesy of my Uncle Sam. Married an 'Alien' in 73, picked up a whole parcel of kin folk, spoke funny though. Got three daughters, one grandson, and now two more grandkids on the way. Growing up in a backwoods town, then seeing how the rest of the world lives has shaped my life, made my views more open, I have seen both good and bad in people and no one race, sex, religion, or monetary standard has a monopoly on either. The only thing I would change if I could, would be my health for the last four years.

Well Steve, you seem to be a well rounded and open-minded fellow. Sorry to hear your health has been troublesome the last four years, hopefully the future will be brighter for you healthwise. Thanks for responding to my challenge.
